 Below is a list of volunteer opportunities

RSVP Michigan Freedom Center, Lansing:

Provide coffee and other refreshments in support of servicemen and women prior to deployment from the center. Volunteers work 2-4 hour shifts.

RSVP Lansing South Precinct:

Handicapped Parking Patrol volunteers issue tickets to cars that are illegally parked in handicapped spaces. Volunteers work 2-4 hour shifts.

RSVP Lansing South Precinct:

Volunteers work the information desk at the South Lansing Police Department during 3 hour shifts.

RSVP Lansing South Precinct, River Trail Patrol:

Volunteers patrol the 14 miles of the River Trail system in golf carts to monitor the trail, report damage to the trail and help residents on the trail if needed. Volunteers work 4 hour shifts.

RSVP Lansing Ophthalmology:

Volunteers work as greeters, providing information to those who need assistance. Volunteers work in 4 hours shifts.

RSVP Impression 5 Science Museum:

Volunteers help with science demonstrations at the Impression 5 Science Museum. Volunteers work 4 hour shifts.

RSVP Riverwalk Theatre, Lansing:

Volunteers can serve in various roles including working the box office, ushers, and stage and scenery prep. Shifts and hours vary depending on job.

RSVP Michigan Historical Museum, Lansing:

Volunteers will be trained as docents to talk with students and visitors to the museum about Michigan history. Volunteers are needed for 4 hours shifts.

FGP Area elementary schools need foster grandparent volunteers over the age of 55 to help young children succeed in school. Volunteers serve under the direction of a teacher for the school year or in a summer program. Placements are available in neighborhoods throughout Ingham, Eaton and Livingston counties.

SCP Home bound adults need senior companions to do friendly visiting on a weekly basis. Volunteers must be at least 55 years old. SCP volunteers are matched with people in their neighborhood in ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.

All new applications need to fill out the application for the program you want to join. The Criminal History Consent also needs to be filled out and sent in with the new application.
